About Tobias
Founder of Blue Orb
Growing up on an active 40-acre farm property in Newton, Alabama Tobias developed his passion for the paranormal. The blue orbs hovering over the Native American burial mounds and the ghostly figures regularly seen around the civil war graves on his family’s property set the tone for his deep involvement in metaphysical and historical research. While still in his teens he received mentoring sessions from legendary southern ghostwriter Kathryn Tucker Windham of Selma, Alabama. Armed with this knowledge and a love for southern history, Tobias began investigations at the age of 14.
In his early adulthood Tobias developed an interest in electronics and science. As he continued to meet more influential figures from the field of paranormal research he began to examine afterlife phenomena and this lead to his own studies and writings on the subject for blogs and forums. Combining his talents, he began working in afterlife research technology with electrical engineers from Georgia Tech and Atlanta based M.I.T. graduates. Those efforts would eventually compel him to Savannah, Georgia.
During this time he was also broadened the scope of his education by traveling throughout the island communities of the Caribbean. Acquiring knowledge from traditional sources, he studied with village elders in the bush country of Roaring River outside of Savannah La Mar in Jamaica. He also spent time learning the ancestral stories of the magical maroons and generational zambos…Vodun rituals and the hoodoo people of Haiti.
Returning home with a passion for his craft, Tobias began further historical research combined with paranormal investigations in Savannah. In the spring of 2010 Tobias unveiled Blue Orb Tours, a specialty walking Tour Company that is consistently said to be one of the most informative and creepiest tours in Savannah. The uncensored Midnight Zombies Tour, led by Tobias, was named The Destination Guides “Best Savannah Ghost Tour 2011”.
Tobias is also the host of Savannah Paranormal on WTKS 1290 every Saturday from 11 p.m. until Midnight EST. Savannah Paranormal can also be heard anytime on podcast (iTunes keyword: “Savannah Paranormal”) interviewing such guests as Amityville survivor Christopher Lutz and Vatican trained exorcist Father Gary Thomas featured in The Rite.

About Our Guides
Tobias personally trains each guide and selects the people with the best potential to equip them to effectively represent Blue Orb Tours and be a positive face for tourism in the city of Savannah. Blue Orb gives them the resources and training to develop their own stories, do their own research and be proactive in their own tour promotion. We respect each guides unique style and talents and therefore do not wear uniforms or push gimmicks and period costumes.
Blue Orb wants its patrons to be able to take the same tour route twice or more if they choose and be able to hear different stories and enjoy a unique style with every guide they encounter. In doing so not only do we offer variety within a particular route but in each guide as well. The stars and allure of Savannah are the stories, the people that lived them and the locations that mark their legacy.
